It's not quite out there to where everyone can get it at an affordable price, but yes just about anyone can get it. Broadband is considered high speed internet, speeds in excess of dial up connections (56kbps). If you want to check your area for the most cost effective high speed internet (broadband), you can check lowermybills.com, or call your local cable or phone provider.

Broadband comes from the words "broad bandwidth" and is used to describe a high-capacity, two-way link between an end user and access network suppliers capable of supporting full-motion, interactive video applications.. . . Capable of handling frequencies greater than those required for high-grade voice communications. . Telecommunication that provides multiple channels of data over a single communications medium.. . . Communications channel with a bandwidth broader than a voice-grade channel.. . . A way of transmitting large amounts of data, voice, and video that is greater than telephony networks. In ISDN, broadband channels support rates above the primary rate (1.544 Mbps or 2.048 Mbps). (See wideband and narrowband)
