Because in the embryonic stages, while we are in the fetus, we are under water, and breath water.... . The trouble is, most people forget how to do it after we are born!

Only if you want to drown. It takes only 2 tablespoons of water to drown a person. The only time you "breath" fluids is when you are in your mothers womb. After that, you are breathing the surrounding air.
