Chinese dont have alphabets.. they just have characters, that stand for words.. so each word in chinese has its own unique character. There are over 6000 known characters in traditional chinese, more than 5000 characters in simplified chinese and more than 3500 characters in simplified chinese that are frequently used in day-to-day life!!!!
