Proximity effect is the increase in the low-frequency sensitivity of a microphone when the sound source is close to it. This is particularly true of cardioid, directional microphones

proximity effect can be related to many subjects. but generally, proximity is the distance of two or more stimulus or the distance between an observer and a presented stimuli.. so proximity effect has something to do with the influence of how near or how far a person is between an object or another person to his/her behavior.
