What led to William Shakespeare beginning to write poems?

prob because he was like me.he prob had a lot of love to give but got rejected by the ladies like i always do.i sometime write poems also.

No one will probably ever know for sure. Poems, espescially the sonnet, were a major part of literature at the time. People wrote or comissioned poetry on a regular basis. Even his plays have poetry in them.
