Do teenagers who engage in criminal activities often come from unstable family environments?

I think criminal teenagers come from dysfunctional homes, or really overprotective homes. Dysfunctional homes because the kids pick up what there parents do, like drugs, or drinking. And in overprotective homes because the kids aren't allowed to do anything so they try harder to disobey there parents

Society tends to say that most criminal teenagers come from dysfunctional families and most times it is true. However not all criminal teenagers originate from a dysfunctional home. Whether u are wealthy or not, If you do the crime, you do the time if you are caught. Howeva I believe peer pressure from those you interact with is a stimulant 4 some to prove their worthiness or acceptance into a group.
