Why do computer screens flicker when displayed on a TV?

The frames per second are different on the PC screen then the frames per second on camera. These can be synchronized and are in more sophisticated productions. Check out a good movie that shows computer screens and they don't flicker.

I've always wondered this myself. I would assume that the TV camera can't really reproduce the effect of the scrambling particles in the computer screen.

its the refresh rate of the electron gun inside the monitor or TV. it shoots each individual pixel an the screen, it moves very fast, when a camera views it and is displayed on another TV the refresh rate can be seen, same principle as a Strobe light, on a spinning wheel, it can make it look like the wheel is going backwards or staying still depending on how fast the wheel is spinning or how fast the light is blinking
