What is the significance of red, green, and yellow traffic lights?

because that's the way some guy thought it should be so that is how it is now..... . Why is blue for cold and red for hot?

i think its because. red=its so dark that its seriously makes you stop . green=its so bright you just want to leave. yellow=yellow makes you slow?? . dunno

yellow means caution. you have to try to stop if you see a yellow light. in some countries (like korea) its pretty serious if you run a yellow light without trying to stop

Same reason why the grass is green and the sky is blue. . If you think about it red symoblizes danger (as a rule) if you something something red it is telling you not to do it. Or red ALSO catches your eye quicker than any other color (proven through a 12th grade science project) . . Green is a positive color and yellow is a negative color (per color therapy). . It's possible, I don't know :D Just my theory and yammering on ;)
