First of all, this is a really good question. Kudos on that alone.. . To answer it you really have to look at yourself and your faith.. . Western thought would lean more towards the live as if everyday was your last, where as Eastern thought and Buddhism steers more towards patience being a means to an end.. . Really these two things are things a lot of people preach, but very few actually practice.. . I think depending on the way you look at the interpretation you can really connect the two. Living everyday as if it were your last can be taken as really valuing everything in life, no necessarily being in a rush to do so many things. Also it can be added to not leave any regrets with every decision you make. This can directly tie to patience in terms of valuing things and taking time to really see every thing's beauty as well as not having any regrets.. . So it is all in the way your perceive things and what your beliefs are. However you can really relate these two statements if you look at them in what they can mean.
