One thing that is tricky with Nero is that you have to switch between CD mode and DVD mode when burning. Often I will make it pretty far through the wizard then realize that I forget to set the right mode.

Look for a drop down list right when you're selecting the kind of project you'll work with, in the beginnig. It should contain both CD and DVD options, select the latter. ;)
