Curious is correct. It is tidal lock, not coincidence, that causes the phenomenon you ask about. Eventually, the earth would get into tidal lock also, and always show the same face to the moon, but before that happens the sun will expand in its death throes and engulf the planetary orbits out beyond Mars.

because of its rotation around the earth

The situation is called tidal lock and it is a lowest energy state for the system. Most orbital bodies will achieve this state given enough time.

Relative to the Earth, the Moon makes one rotation every 29.5 days. . That happens to also be the time it takes for the Moon to complete one revolution around the Earth.

Like you said, it's a coincidence...at least that we're around to see such a thing. Another coincidence is that the moon is exactly the right distance from Earth so that solar eclipses can happen. However things are slowly changing because the moon is slowly receding from earth by about 1.5 inch per year.. . God should be spelled B-I-G B-A-N-G. [email protected]

Because our eyes can't see 3D images by standing in one position.

because if we saw both sides then we would never have had such a phrase(or album) as "dark side of the moon"
