What steps should be taken by a friend who was sexually harassed at work before consulting a lawyer?

If she was harrassed she should go to the Supervisor of her work first and let the company in on the Problem. If the company does nothing to solve the matter, then she should definately see the attorney to get this matter resolved. I don't believe you can sue the company for sexual harrasment if they know nothing of this matter. I may be wrong but i would advice you to take actions in certain steps.

She should make a written complaint to superiors, especially if there is a process in place to address those sorts of complaints.
