Which state in the U.S. has the highest percentage of religious people and why?

The most religious by total number or per capita? The most religious per capita would be any from Texas to Virginia, or the Bible Belt. There's a church on nearly any back road you travel, small, but a church, unique in the South. It's hard to find someone that even uses a swear word!

That's a tough one, but I guess I wouldn't say it was a state at all, it's called the Bible Belt and as I recall it kinda overlaps the corn belt. It's a line of bible whorshipping across the northen states.. . As far as why, because those little towns and farm communities where built on religious beliefs.
