What are the differences between pre-approved and personal invitation credit cards?

Read the fine lines, Pre-approved, you are approved, but many have hidden fees to activate the cards, or some astronomical amount like $75-$100 for "membership". Some will only let you have credit to certain catalogs, etc., and not as implied as a true charge card. A personal invitation is only a fill out and you may or may not get approved based on credit worthiness.

a pre-approved card means that you are PRE-APPROVED to get that OFFER but that doesn't mean that you are pre-approved for that application, cause you still might get denied.. . I am not aware of personal invitation cards though.
