How can we find the distance between two points with coordinates (-2, -4) and (-2, -2)?

the distance is 2, since the x coordinates are the same, the distance between the two points is a result of finding the difference in the y coordinates. -2 and -4 are 2 units apart.

It is 2. You subtract -2 by -2 and get zero, then square it. Then you subract -4 from -2 and get 2, then square it. You add the squares together, getting 4. Then you take the square root of 4, in which you get 2.
