Your sweat actually contains urine, that's why it smells. Since your armpits are a perfect place for heat and wetness, it is more abundant. Bacteria also feed off the sweat and emmit more stinky smells!

Sweat and other bodliy fluids don't smell right away. It's when the bacteiria gets to it. You sweat the same fluid that you pee.. . John. Student

Because besides the sweat glands there are also oil glands, and when these combine and dry, you get the odor. Shaving and deodorant are the only things you can really do about it, well, and bathing on a regular basis.

Although perspiration is basically odorless, it can take on an unpleasant smell when it comes into contact with bacteria on your skin. . It's the bacterial breakdown of apocrine sweat(fatty sweat) that causes a strong odor.. A number of factors can affect how much you sweat and even the way your sweat smells.

I think that it has to do with airflow. When you sweat in places where there is little airflow the smell is much worse than other sweaty areas where there is airflow. Since our arms are down most of the time the bacteria in there have a good place to breed and stink.

Your armpit is the perfect environment for bacterial growth (warm and moist). Bacteria give off noxious gasses as they metabolize their food (you).
