When they put the ice cream in the float it makes the drink much sweeter than normal root beer. Some people think that root-beer is too intense and has a strong flavor. The vanilla ice cream sometimes can overpower the root-beer too. Or maybe some people just like it because of the ice cream.

You are so right. I don't drink root beer, but I love root beer floats. Why is that? I remember going to A&W Rootbeer drive inns when I was a little thing no higher then a grass hopper just for their rootbeer floats. :)

Actually I don't like root beer but I do like root beer floats.. I thinks it is because the carbonation is too much so all the cream kinda dilutes it so it isn't so strong. Or I just like the foam and little ice chunks that you don't have in just regular root beer.
