Best answer
5 points are given to a veteran regardless if they went to combat. 10 points for a service connected disability. There is no such thing as combat points in any civil service test.

A 5 point veteran is someone who has actually been in combat and a 10 point is a veteran with a disability. In some cases one can be a 5 point by only serving in the military during a war situation.
