What are some methods to minimize tax payments on online purchases?

Miles isn't entirely correct...if you buy on the web from your own state, if you're in the US, 99% of the time you will have to pay sales tax.. . You might be able to avoid it if you can find a seller on eBay, but I've had instances where customs opened the package I sent and charged the recipient duties and taxes anyway. They don't open them all, but there's no guarantee that they won't hold your package hostage until you pay.

buy from businesses outside your own contry. but if you do and you get ripped off then the government can't help you get your money back.

If your from the states just buy items from other states and dont import so there wont be a tax.
