There's usually a stepping stone into an occupation, and, if you can afford the pay scale of an entry level position, that's the best way into a career you might enjoy.. . There are always training programs or additional education as well.

You haven't mentioned your educational background. But still I would advise you to try to join somewhere as a trainee or apprentice first. Though the pay might be less, it will help you a lot later on.
