What is the proper ETIQUETTE when someone is going to kill themselves?! first of all, if they do jump in front of a train, it will destroy their family's happiness and their own life WHEN YOU could have done something to stop it from happening. if the person does not want to live, then don't let him do it now, but rather when you are not around to witness his suicide, because that would probably be quite grotesque just to watch it happen..

You should stop that person and try to talk to them about going to see a dr. about their depression! How would you feel if you didn't stop someone and they really did jump? You could always call the police and tell them that the person just threatened suicide and the police can help the person. Never just stand there and let someone kill themselves!

Well first you ask them when they are going to do it and then ask them to wait until you can film it on your cell phone (don't forget to tell them to smile).

A friend of my dad's was always saying that someday he was going to jump in front of a train. No one took him seriously, since he was always laughing and saying that.. . Then one day he did it. Just imagine that some train engineer has to live with having killed someone, and that guy was a nut. Also, his wife was terribly upset. She didn't think he would ever do that.. . Suicide is the selfishest (word?) act you can do. I can't imagine there is any proper etiquette for it, or stopping them.

It would be proper etiquette to step back and politely say after you. Then contact the authorities.

What does she look like...No just kidding. I'd really try and stop them. Life is just too precious to see all over the front of a train, the tracks, you and especially your clothes......

Walk to the end of the platform and below the blue light is an emergency power cutting device. Read the instructions and use it then pick up the phone there and contact the control center. Wait and follow instructions given.
