How can I determine the appropriate size for a web page to ensure it looks good on all devices?

Resolutions on computer screens are getting higher and higher. I'm on a 1600x900 laptop right now. But some people maybe have bad eyesight and prefer lower resolutions, for me i stick within the "safe zone" of 600x800 pixels. Its good all around, for low and high resolution screens...

To handle different resolutions, generally you want to keep your content less than 766 pixels wide. . . For more complex sites:. Using external CSS files that are called depending on resolution is the way to go.. . Generally web pages should be designed by professionals, but if you want to design one yourself just keep the layout small enough to be viewed with minimal scrolling.

your also going to have to remember that rendering of the tags is different based on what kind of browser you are using. mozilla firefox i know renders controls differently than say an Internet Explorer.
