Why vote? Even if your candidate doesn't win, you have shown the parties that you are one who doesn't agree with them.. . Why do Rep/Dems get voted in? They are the 2 biggest parties in the country with the most money.

people are scared to think who they vote for wont win, so people just vote for one or the other or they do not vote .You should vote with your head and heart. Don't vote just win

Thats the problem with American democracy, your supposed to elect someone to represent your best interests but instead its always some rich, ivy league aristocrat who will drag you to war. So I guess you should vote the lesser of two evils or start voting for people like Ralph Nader in previous elections, he wont win, but you dont have t vote for those other two

they have the power and the money. it would be nice if there were more than just 2 parties. it might change the climate and we wouldn't be so polarized..

Well it's two things, One it is your right to choose who you wish to represent your opinions and second as a citizen it is your duty to vote for a duly constituted representative of masses. As the two are the major parties in any election they have the majority of supporters who constitutes the votes required to put them in office.

Because our government was set up as a two party system by the founding fathers. Whigs & Tories gave way to Democrates & Republicans over the past two hundred years.

Because as long as republicans stay in power there will be no campaign finance reform and we will never be able to get a third party elected.. Democrats don't represent me very well either, but if we want change, we need to get the corporate influence out and that includes voting out a lot of the democratic leaders during the primaries in 2008... One step at a time.
