Why has gasoline price increased by 6-9 cents per gallon today despite crude oil prices going down?

it's just supply and demand, the prices fluctuate every day..... and the government does not control gas prices, it's just simple economics. The prices will keep declining when oil companies start the offshore drilling that Bush made legal a few weeks ago.
