Why does it take so long for my computer to boot up?

No need for such a long story. it;s easy to say that your comp is fully loaded with start up programs that are try ing to boot along with when the comp is booting.... same the case of shutting it down..... . to know more about this and to handle . visit www.support.microsoft.com and search for clean boot trouble shooting.. and msconfig.... is the tool that can tell you how many startup programs and processes are booting along with the comp.

i could be the hardrive yet it could be many other things. . take it to shop and let them find out

Whoa, big trouble. I agree, take it in for repair. Now. Dont spend too much tho. You can get a new desk top for around $400.

dud its ur harddrive change ur harddrive. And one morething the colder the weather the better for the computers. Also i am computer science student so trust me cheersssssssssss
