What are the advantages of having a knowledgeable person?

A 'knowledgeable' person doesn't accept what others say without running that data through certain critical filters which he or she has developed. This process is a kind of defense mechanism and allows the individual to protect himself to a greater degree against the many manifestations of mendacity and subterfuge whch one encounters in daily life.

They know alot of information... and hopefully how to use it. I do know some brilliant people (book wise) that are unbelieveably dumb when it comes to common sense though.

they know a lot more than the average person does - and can brag about it, or have the satisfaction of being able to answer someone's question correctly. Kind of like when you would raise your hand in class and get the answer right. Its just a bit more fun...to be in the know.. . But sometimes its downright annoying to everyone around them.
