Jesus freed us from the old Jewish dietary laws. He specifically said, "It's not what comes into a man's mouth that makes him unclean, but what comes out.". . And in the book of Acts, God says, "Do not call unclean what the Lord has made clean."

Because they believe that they are remembering this Jesus. Note that the ham, Christmas & Easter been here way before the Messiah so when the apostle said that people would preach of a different Messaih could this be the one? Why do we have these things to remember the Messiah when he gave us his own memorial the day before the Passover,Luke 22:19 this is the evening meal that he had with his diciples.

Because the Bible does not condemn eating of pork in the New Testament. Remember the vision Peter had of the unclean animals? Remember Paul said that we Gentile Christians are only obligated to observe four things in the Book of Acts; and eating Pork was not one of these four choices.
