Apparently we're just too damn funny for our own good! By all accounts out humour is a little drier, subtle and dare I say intelligent than some other forms! The problem is that it can be so subtle at times that other nations don't pick-up on it and as such just don't get it.. . Saying that though, we are just like any other nation and have some awful levels and types of humour!

There's alot of gallows or black humour that other nations find abit scary or 'shocking' and then there's irony, there aren't many americans that understand it well, apart from comedies like Frasier or Cheers. There isnt much that's sacred in english humour and I think alot probably wish they could laugh about certain things, humour's a great releaser.

It's not like American....it requires more brain cells and isn't filled with as much filth (or at least Monty Python isn't.) It's very dry...and wonderful!

I watch a lot of comedy shows, and I am American. But, when I watch British comedians, I'm sorry, I apologize, I don't get it.. Now, Mexicans? That's some funny stuff!

I think the thing with British humour or the English sense of humour rather, is that makes it popular is the dry sense of humour that we have on this sceptered isle, and due to a Island culture we have the sort of humour which requires working out as our humour tends to be very private, also I believe that secret of all comedy is timing and delivery which for some reason we seem to be the best at doing.
