Someone has to, that's why. The "common" majority have ideals often based upon a value system that includes a sense of duty and integrity. They fight for those "ideals" for idealistic reasons, believing that they, too, will eventually profit--either intrinsically or in some more tangible way. In our country, we have long held the belief that anyone can become a Leader; it is only after encountering the realities of our social and governmental power system that the idealistic become jaded and personal profit overshadows personal responsiblilty and integrity.

That's a very good question. Why should the poor and middle class young people be fighting a war for the rich? It does not make sense--it's as though, once again, the poorer classes are "servants" to the upper class.

there are always going to be people who think they are better than others for some reason, be it birth, or monitary . get used to it, it isn't going away, as long as people allow others to be treated differently.

I don't know who stated it but that about sums it up! Who said that?. . I would add leaders, the rich and corporations, who get all the say immediately after they are elected. You think they represent anyone else?. . Corporations pay little, if any tax, but they sure give to campaigns. Isn't that a bribe, sort-of? I mean, they do expect something in return!

You ask a good question. I guess it's the macho thing. I'd like to see the leaders fight each other in the boxing ring or through a chess game; etc. and leave the innocent people alone.
