What does the term 'closed trade' refer to in the context of a credit report?

I've never seen that exact wording, but I would assume that it means you are looking at a "closed tradeline". That is any account that has been closed by either the consumer or the credit provider.

I have looked at lots of credit reports and I have never seen that one.. . If you had an installment account(mortgage, car payment) a closed account will say "paid and closed" or "paid/closed/zero balance" depending on which bureau you are looking at.. . A closed revolving account(credit card, dept. store, gas card) will say "account closed by consumer" which is positive, or it will say "account closed by credit grantor" which is negative.
