What do you think is the main difference between a Prophet and a psychic?

A "prophet" speaks with a message from God. A "psychic" speaks with the messages from other spirits, usually considered to be "from the deep" or "from the dark realms."

A prophet is someone that can interpret Gods will. They can do this with visions and dreams, they can discern God's word, maybe even hear God speaking to them in other ways.. . A psychic is someone that draws on the spirit world to recieve visions. The Bible leads one to believe that the spirits are of evil origin. When a psychic is communicating with the dead, they are actually communicating with evil spirits or demons POSING as the person they are trying to communicate with.

a pychic has a natural ability they are either born with or comes about in another way. A 'prophet' should be viewed with the utmost suspicion because LOTS profess to be that and they aren't, IE Jim Jones, David Koresh, et al. People who have delusional disorders think they are 'prophets' and 'speak with god' but it comes from a disorder. Who is to say most so-called 'prophets' didn't have a disorder like that?

A psychic (or medium) claims to talk to spirits, a prophet claims to talk to God. Neither should be trusted with your money.

A psychic does not tell you the word of god they tell us that they can see the future most of them are fakes and just want your money but prophets are there to tell you what you should follow and belive . bascally that is saying that sylvia brown is a prophet she just tells people what they want to hear prophets tell people the truth. A prophet is chosen to spread an important message of god but psychics wake up one morning and say "well today im gonna be psychic." So you see there are many differences to that question.

Our Prophet leads our church and a psychic usually gives advise about the future of an individual.....Free will can change a lot of what a psychic sees...the visions of a TRUE Prophet are from God and unchangeable.
