My cat did this, he was cleaning his tongue against his teeth. After grooming he had hair stuck in his tongue, so he would making this clicking noise while dislodging the hair from his tongue.. Still, I think you should take your cat to the vet.

your cat may just be dreaming, my cats and dogs do that, my cat coffee would drool sooo much. just imagine what they are dreaming about, finally catching that mouse or squirrel?

It sounds like seizure activity to me. I'm not a vet but I've got 7 cats and a dog. Does he stare off into space? Twitching is normal if they're sleeping but awake, you have a problem. Get the little guy to the Vet.

take it to a vet to be sure its okay. It might just be it clashes its teeth like some people do, maybe its just normal.
