I think they will not gain at all. I think that they may trade a few seats here and there. I believe that the party has no message or plan to "fix" all the things they complain about. If they bring their "A" game they could win big, but not until they replace Howard Dean.

I believe the next president will be a democrat. Unfortunately, except for Reagan in his first term, the republicans haven't had successful presidencies.

Most of the projects now see them gaining around a dozen seats in Congress - that is, almost but not quite enough to take control.. . The Senate is likely to stay in Republican hands. Right now, the GOP has 55 seats, so the Dems would have to gain 6 seats to get the majority. There are Senate races in 33 states this year. Of those, 23 seats (13 Dem, 10 GOP) seem pretty safe for the incumbent. That leaves 10 seats in play - 4 Dem, 5 GOP, and 1 independent (Jeffords) who caucuses with the Dems. The Dems would have to pick up all those seats, plus at least one they aren't expected to win, in order to take the Senate.

I think they will gain seats in the House and probably 2 or 3 in the Senate.. . It will be such a close close margin for the party of the majority in 2007 that maybe nothing will get done,. WHICH I AM IN FAVOR OF, LESS GOVERNMENT.. let em sit around all day argueing all they do is screw us when they pass sh8t

Nationally, they will do very well because George W. Bush is doing horribly in his approval rating. However, in order to regain control of the country, the Democrats must start to say what they believe in, not what they're against. The entire country is saying, "OKAY, we @#*&^#-ing get it. You hate Bush. So what do YOU want to do?" . . BUT this presents the Dems with a problem. As much of an idiot as Bush is, he tells you what he believes in, and what he wants to do, however moronic and imperialistic. The Democrats, on the other hand CAN'T do that, because what they really believe amounts to socialism. Raise your taxes and give more money to the chronically unemployed, expand government further into American lives, support racist programs like Affirmative Action with government funds (i.e. your money), and dismantle the military. . . None of this sounds like a good idea when put this way to free thinking Americans. And you can trust me, cause I'm not a Republican. But this is the way it is, and it's really sad.. . Third Party in '06! . . Good Luck!
