Bend over with a glass of water in your hand, and drink from the far side of the glass slowly. Take a few sips and come back up slowly.. . Works every time!

Get a heaping spoonful of peanut butter (I've always used creamy rather than chunky) and put all of it in your mouth, and just eat it as you normally would eat the stuff. . . At work, I kept a jar of Jiffy peanut butter in my drawer. Several of my labmates had frequent hiccuping bouts, and the peanut butter always worked for them, too... They'd come to me red-faced and ask if they could have a spoonful of peanut butter.. . For me, peanut butter has been the only reliable way to get rid of hiccups. I had tried spoons of sugar, drinking water "upside down", etc., and none of the other methods were 100% effective for me.. . Good luck.

To get rid of hiccups you have to understand what's happening. There is an "air bubble" or some air in your stomach. Now that you understand, you can solve it. To get rid of the "air bubble":. 1. Get a full glass of water.. 2. Exhale as much air out of your lungs as possible.. 3. Hold your breath.. 4. Slowly drink the water while holding your breath until you can't hold it any longer while continuing to drink the water. Go that extra few seconds until it's impossible to hold your breath any longer. You are continuing to drink throughout this period.. 5. Once you exhale, you can stop drinking the water.. 6. That action forces the air up and out of your stomach.. 7. Hiccups are gone. If done correctly, works every time. Guaranteed.

I guarentee that holding your nose and drinking water usually works. If that doesn't work, just sit it out!
