Which medications are known to increase blood sugar levels?

I am also diabetic, tightly controlled, and have been for 16 years. I find that the only meds that raise my bloodsugar are steroids (and they DRASTICALLY raise it), amphetamines (like in pseudophed and other decongestants), and antibiotics. I find that amphetamines and antibiotics only raise it a little, but that steroids push it 200 and 300 points upwards and I have to bolus often and raise my basal rate by a full unit each hour. Yeah, I'm a pump user and I love it!

Any type of steriod has a tendency to do that. Certain diuretics and birth control pills do as well.

Talk to your docter about it, he can give you the best advice. Also, are you participating in a experimental drug test, if so you may have a placebo and thats why your blood sugar is higher.
