How can one purchase a house without any mortgage or liens?

You have to find a house that the county is going to take because the taxes haven't been paid.. . You pay the taxes and the house is yours.. . Doesn't happen too often, but if you did get a house for $600 it would probably be a piece of junk out in the middle of nowhere in the desert.. . I think you would be looking a $50,000 or $100,000 - Just my guess.

Government foreclosures - you pay the back taxes on it but it's rarely that cheap.. and those that are.. are usually 1k square feet and badly damaged.
