Is it safe to use a plastic water bottle multiple times? What are safer alternatives?

I've been using a plastic water bottle again and again (for drinking water from), and I've been fine, however if you are worried, then wash it out properly between uses (as in with detergent and hot water). We use glasses again and again, and this is considered ok, so why not plastic water bottles?

It's safe but tastes gross. You're better off getting a water bottle. I have a Nalgene one that I'm happy with. It carries 1L of water and I usually drink that dry 1-2 times a day.

Just make sure you wash it properly in between uses. Especially if you ever fill it with anything like milk, which will go off. Squash can leave the bottle tasting of that type of squash, but with water you won't have any problems at all I imagine!

So long as you wash it up each time it'll be fine, the original water was safe in there and tap water's safe so no problems
