pins and needles. Its when you have been leaning on a part of the body for a long time and the circulation of blood gets cut off, it feels like your arm or legs dead but its not, a tip to get rid of the pain quickly is to wriggle your fingers and toes as fast as you can, this will help the circulation quickly be back to normal. (They advise when you sat or standing in the same spot for a long time to occasional move about, the circulation could be cut off so much- that the blood actually starts to clot, this condition is then called deep vein thromobolis.)

I vote with the person above who said your hands fell asleep while you were sleeping. If you sleep on your stomach with your hands up around your head and possibly under the pillow, this can happen easily. Just hang your hands off the bed and all will be fine. I don't think its carpel tunnel syndrome if it only happens while you are sleeping and not while you are awake.

You may be low in electrolytes That is what maintains the level of oxygen in your brain. That can be caused by, believe it or not drinking too much water. The very thing that we all think we can never drink too much of. Try drinking Gatoraid, it will help to maintain electrolytes and therefore oxygen

sounds like the same as I have. Its carpal tunnel syndrome! the tendon in you wrist gets tight and causes the numbness and tingling. Easily sorted with a simple operation. I had it done 10 years ago and was in and out in 2 hours and have only started having problems again now. Its well worth getting the op!

Perhaps you have been lying on your arm in your sleep, cutting off the circulation which is why you feel tingly and numb when you wake up.

It is possible that you may be in the early stages of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. If you have a job or hobby that requires repetetive motion of the hands, you should look into this.
