Why is it so challenging to quit using tobacco?

It isn't the tobacco, its the nicotine. Also, your body rids itself of nicotine in 3 days, but the habit of having something in your mouth is what makes it hard - like stopping nail biting.

did u say difficult.its almost impossible buddy...the nicotine rushing to your blood stream is the most relaxing sensation non smokers just cant seem to understand....PS:- but quit it, makeup your mind and just quit...no other way out

Its addicting, basically it releases endorphins in the brain for pleasure and the pleasure receptors. Your body gets used to this and so does your brain, so how do you quit something your body is accustomed to having, well its not easy! Also when this endorphin release is taken away your body won't feel as good and you can get extremely irritable.

You can live without it. If it went up to $10 or $15.00 a pack would you buy it. IF the doctor told you that if you don't quit smoking you will die without one week. Do a cigarette mean more to you than your life. WE weren't born smoking so why should we die from smoking.

it isn't. I smoke when I want to. guess some people just have addictive personalities.. . it's all in the head. and it isn't tobacco that's addictive, it's the nicotine.
