How can I create a low-cost tree for a school play?

If you want it to look somewhat real use chicken wire to form the trunk and branches. You will need wood to support the chicken wire. Cover it with paper-maiche and use caulk to help form the bark of the tree. Then just paint it to make it look realistic.

try using cardboard and cheap craft paints or old house paints. the old house paint could be a good base for colors over the brown cardboard.(white house paint) You could make the leaves out of paper and glue them on.good luck!

brown and green construction paper. or go cut down a minature christmas tree. and bring it in.

get a peice of big card and cut out the out line of the tree and paint it in different colours of brown , after get different peices of green paper you can rip then in long peices for willows or you could cut out leaf shapes then stik them on the tree branches then get a bigg peice of elastic to tie on two hoes at the top and botom and that i show u put it on the person

Take brown buther paper and roll it into a cylinder. Glue the edges together. Stuff cylinder with crumpled newspaper. Crumple green buther paper or construction paper and glue it to the top of the "trunk" make branches out of brown paper by slightly dampening the paper and twisting it. Or use paper towel tubes. . Good luck !
