Explain the concepts of second cousin and fifth cousin, and the differences between them.

A second cousin is one of your parents' cousins. I've always considered mine to be more like aunts and uncles. A fifth cousin is really removed, I don't think I know my fifth cousins. My grandma told me during the olympcs a long time ago that one of the swimmers was my fourth cousin and I didn't know him at all.

Your first cousin might be the son of your mother's brother (your uncle). If your Mother's Mother had a brother or sister, their son would be your second cousin.. . Another example:. . My Uncle Len has a son - he is my 1st cousin.. My dad's Aunt (his mom's sister) has a daughter. She is my 2nd cousin.. And it goes on and on like that.

second cousin: Cousine of your cousine - Lets say your mom and your cousine's mon are sisters. That cousine's father could be brother of your second cousine's father.. . When you are 5 layers apart from another person like this, he/she is your 5th cousine.

ur mum has cousins and her cousins kids wud be ur 2nd cousins and so on apparently i heard u can marry ur 2nd cousins but def not ur 3rd cousins so 5th cousins wud be no problem i dunno if i know any of my 5th cousins
