Why do some women prefer relationships with individuals who are considered thugs over those with education and intelligence?

Perhaps it goes back to "caveman" days when females wanted a mate that would protect them physically from harm. Brute strength would have played an atvantage back then.. . Nowadays, however, women are capable of defending themselves (if they learn how rather than just falling into the stereotypical weak female) and while some out there still favor the "bad guy" image, there are more of us that want an intellectually competant guy, not to mention one that respects us and understands that we are equal beings.

They are insecure. They feel the false strength these men offer compensate for their own sense of insecurity. A secure woman will pick out the more high quality, refined man, irregardles of his physical appearance. Just be glad women who prefer thugs do NOT prefer you.. You would have many problems down the line with them.

I got a friend like that, its because she feels better with that kind of man ,she likes to think she is better than most people, what i call thinks her s--t don't stink. but it don't wash with me i call her on it when she's being uppy around me.she can't run a powerful smart man either, and she likes to do that. I tell her boyfriends ,don't take that crap off of her, stick up for yourself,that's probable why she comes alone to my house now.

because some girls think that smart guys are wierd and geeks and should only hang out with people with the same ''geekiness''.some girls like thugs because they think thugs are though but actualy thugs are stupid and will have no good future. but other girls like intelligent guys beacuse of thier personality. love can't be desided by personality! it's destiny that desides who are ment for each other!

It's the bad boy thing I used to think that way too until the love of my life went to jail and hasn't been out since now I stay away.
