What is a drawback of obtaining U.S. citizenship?

Paying Taxes is pretty much the only disadvantage to becoming a U.S. Citizen. In the U.S., we have more chances to live a better life like going to college, learning a trade that could land you a better paying job, and the chance to say what you think about the government, which in any other country you would be in trouble for speaking out against your government. I don't know about everybody else, but I think paying taxes is about the only disadvantage to being a U.S. citizen. No one realizes how good we have it here in the U.S., they think it is this terrible place, but the U.S.has the yard with the greenest grass, so to speak.

for one, being steriotyped with the many slams against U.S. citizens, such as being fat, greedy and other things like that.. the other disadvantage is being under leadership of President Bush (i will not say anything else ecxept that i am not not not republican).

People tend to think that because you are not from here that you are stupid or uneducated, they will use that to try to take advantage of you. But If you are quick to pick up on it (like my husband) You can use it to your advantage.

Come on, guys. Bush ? . Would you rather have Mao, Stalin, Kim Jung-Ill, Saddam Hussein or Fidel Castro as your president ?. Paying huge taxes in the US ? . Try paying taxes in some European countries, or even Canada ? What we pay here in the great USA is just a fraction of what they pay elsewhere. (i.e. you think $3.00/gal of gas is high, try the equivalent of $6.00 in Europe with all kind of taxes added on).. Many have risked their lives trying to become citizens of this country. Many have died defending this country & what it stands for.. If you never go outside of the U.S., I suggest you should; Then, you would appreciate what we have here.. I'm proud to be a U.S. citizen, proud to call America my home.
