I've had great luck with most of the doctors who've seen and/or treated me over the years. As a group, they do amazing things. Most of them, contrary to what we believe, don't make huge amounts of money. They work harder than most of us, and they take responsibilities that I, for one, wouldn't think of taking on.. . There are exceptions - badly trained physicians, surgeons with a God-complex, doctors who don't take the time to listen. But they're the exception. I don't idolize doctors anymore, and I try to approach them as a partner in taking care of myself - with the ultimate responsibility being my own. I've found that the more I know about what's going on in my body, the more helpful the doctor can be.
