How can one lose weight by managing their food intake?

I would suggest going to Weight Watchers for support. They are probably the best diet and ways to get advice.

don't try to avoid food..try to take only 2 square meals per day,,,avoid taking junk food..fruits n juices are good alternatives but don't just stick to it....a healthy meal is more imp 4 ur well-being.

You can't lose weight just by eating less. Although Weight Watchers will help you learn to eat better, you also MUST exercise to lose weight.

the day you stop eating junk and start walking on an avg 15 min. you reduce your weight. this has happened for me .... . believe me.....
