What is the process for filing income taxes for the year 2001?

I am assuming you have all your records. If they are not complicated and you have done them yourself, simply request the forms (1040, 1040-A, 1040-EZ) from the IRS and complete them. If you are due a refund, don't expect any interest too, since you didn't file to request it until now. If you owe, you WILL be assessed penalties and interest.. A professional could also help you with this if you need it, but be prepared to pay for that service.

You can go to a paid preparer and they can do it for you, but it'll probably be kinda expensive. Otherwise, you can get the forms and instructions from the IRS website (http://www.irs.gov).. . If you need W-2s or other information, you can get it from the IRS, call 1-800-829-1040.

u just take them to a tax shop and they will file them for you i think they are called ammended taxes...but my boyfriend forgets a w-2 every year so we have to do it almost every year
