You are making a small battery and experiencing "galvanic shock" due to a reaction between your saliva, your fillings and the aluminum foil.. . Search "electromotive series" for thousands of references.

TIN FOIL (AKA ALUMINUM FOIL) HAS ANY SHARP EDGES WHEN CRUMPLED UP. MANY TIMES THESE SMALL EDGES DIG INTO THE CHEEK AND GUMS.

Dr. Sam is correct. You are creating Galvanic Shock. This is the interaction between the metals and saliva which causes an electric current to occur.

When you rip off a piece of aluminum foil the blade makes pointy, well, points on the edges of the foil. those points dig into your gums, puncturing them.. Ok, i may or may not have made that up, but it sounds good.

Tinfoil is made of aluminum and aluminum is toxic to the body. I see patients all the time who have too much aluminum in their body and they experience short-term memory loss, worse if it's compounded with other heavy metal toxicity.

cause your body has electric pulses running through it and the foil acts as a conductor and connects pulses that shouldnt be connecting

If you have fillings, they counter act with the tinfoil and makes a sting type feeling. Although, you might not want to chew on tinfoil, its not the healthiest!
