you seem to be going in the right path. you need some sort of software to record it, like cakewalk or adobe audition.. . once you get it on the computer, it's simple to convert to mp3.

Does you MD has a usb port, if so you could plug in your MD via the USB cable and transfer the song file to the computer which then can be burnt on the CD.
