What event led to the disappearance of the Aztecs?

Only one, the coming of the Conquistadors....they brought pestilence and military victory. The tribal members are still around, but the Aztec civilization was no more.

they didn't dissapear they just spread out and renamed tribes, and other dieseases

The biggest one was the introduction of foriegn diseases from the Spaniards into their environment.

Disease, mostly. The Europeans brought an entire "cocktail" of diseases which wiped them out. Smallpox was the most devastating but the Aztecs also had no immunities against measles or mumps. On the other hand, their contribution to the Spaniards was syphilis.
