What is the origin of the association between police officers and donuts?

havent you ever sped by dunkin' donuts going 20 over the speed limit and tried to slow down really fast because you saw a cop in the parking lot, who saw you and didnt care because he was practically making out with a chocolate covered custard donut?. . and thats the story.

Cops stop at coffee shops for breaks. Many have donuts for snacks and cops tend to get a bit helfty...the joke has evolved over the years. . . By the way, how do you know if a cop has died?....the donut rolls from his hand.

Well a lot of officers work night shift, it used to be that they had no problem with going to the donut shop and having coffee and doughnuts. Nowadays most police officers dont eat that stuff because its unhealthy.

All I know is that donut shops are some of the safest places in this country. If something ever goes wrong and you need a cop in a hurry, then you better hope it happens at a donut shop.

i think cops tend to eat donuts. . 1) because alot of donut shops are open really early . 2) because its a quick snack and they can haul booty if they gotta go
